Newborn and heat

MY daughter is 2 weeks old and has been struggling with sleep. Yesterday she stayed awake from 11am until 7pm when my husband and I were finally able to rock and hold her to sleep. The problem I'm having, besides that lately she wants to be awake all the time, is that she wants to be held all the time, like most newborns, but everytime we hold her she ends up getting so warm and then covered in sweat where she touches us. I'm not sure what to do. I feel so bad that she wants to be held, but I'm so worried about how hot she is. Anyone have any advice or anything?

Well as you say it's normal that she wants to be held all the time. If you think she's too warm do you strip her down to her nappy?

Don't be too concerned about her getting a bit sweaty where she touches you. This happened to me with my newborn....who was born in January. Feel her forhead..as long as that feels ok she's fine.

If you do think she's too warm give her a bath in tepid water.

Congratulations btw!
