My 5 month old won't just drift of to a peaceful sleep.
Shes tired, I know she is (rubbing eyes, looks tired, nuzzling in etc) if i put her down she cries and gets worked up if i hold her and shush pat etc she screams and screams and suddenly just falls fast asleep.

Its not an over tired thing.

Dd1 used to just fall asleep wheather it be on me, in. her chair, on her mat she wpuld just fall asleep. But dd2 will fight it every step of the way, what can i do?

My 4mo is the same. She will occasionally fall asleep on her bottle, but during the day I generally have to pace the floor patting her bum, until she stops screaming and suddenly drops off. If I put her down she then usually wakes straight up again. She will sometimes drop off in the car/pram (although wakes as soon as we stop moving!). Have you tried that? Sorry I can't be any more help, but I want you to know you aren't alone and I feel your pain!

Once shes asleep I can put her down no problem.

If she falls asleep in the car or pram she wakes as soon as we stop moving. This is all just new to me! I was obviously very lucky with dd1

I have a 15 week old sleep fighter. I bf to sleep or pop her in her sling, which settles her down in minutes sometimes. Once she's out I carefully transfer her to cot. Or we just lay on the bed together and co sleep. But that's probably not an option if you have another to look after!
