9mo waking with bad coughing

Dd has had a cough for a while, and it's waking her earlier and earlier. We've used snuffle balm, propped up her cot but nothing's helping so far. I think it's a touch of hayfever as we're farmers, are surrounded by farmers, and everyone's mowing grass at the moment.

We hauled her in with us last night and after some wriggles slept very well on her tummy with no coughing. Is it ok to flip her onto her tummy in the night if she's coughing. I've been offered a movement monitor for £20 for extra peace of mind.

Nb she can't really roll over herself yet, but she can crawl so could push herself up and flip over that way if she needed too.

Have you tried a humidifier? I have two friends who swear by them and when any of my DSs have a cough I am now using one. Have certainly found they work for us. 'fraid I can't answer on the sleeping on front.

My DS is just getting over a nasty cough....nightmare!! Just as they get to sleep they wake themselves up coughing. What helped us was a Karvol plug-in. Basically you just plug it in and it releases menthol vapours which really seem to help. You can also buy the capsules which you break and then dot the oil on their clothing/sleeping bag. Good luck Grin

PS I think them sleeping on their tummies is fine as long as they can lift their heads to get themselves out of trouble....... At least that's what I keep telling myself or I'd be condemned to FOREVER flipping DS back onto his back!!
