So ds2 only woke up once last night (9pm - 6.30am) and twice the night before that returning to sleep each time very quickly after a quick feed. I'm so incredibly happy as we've had some shockingly bad nights prior to this- he has eczema and when it flares it really disturbs him.

DS2 is almost 10 months and sleeps in a bedside cot and/ or in with us. We have been giving him a dose of piriton to help with his itchy skin which makes him drowsy at bed time but I'm hoping this isn't the only reason he's sleeping so well (he's had piriton before and not slept so well). Could it be that he's learnt to self settle - I watched him for a bit last night and he rolled around and sat up at one point but then laid down again and went back to sleep - all without crying or demanding the boob! Please please tell me we have turned a corner ;)

Edited to say ds2 is probably stirring more than once it twice in a night but seems to go straight back to sleep ifyswim -I'm counting 'waking up' as properly waking, moving about, crying and demanding boob.

Anyone? I've got all my fingers and toes x'd it continues but is there anything we can do to help it along?

Sounds very hopeful. :) No idea if you can do anything to help him along other than move him into a room on his own. If he doesn't sense you near by he's probably less likely to demand boob but if he's used to co-sleeping that might be a bit of a sudden change I guess.

Good luck. There's nothing worse than broken nights.
