When to drop to one nap?

So, DTs are 11 months (9 corrected if that has anything to do with anything). We're lucky, they've always slept well apart from a couple of blips.

They nap at 9am for anything up to an hour but recently push this later and later, sometimes not till 10 am. As a result they sleep later at lunch, yesterday it was 1.30 and they were awake at 2.15. Could they be ready to drop the morning one and go down maybe earlier at lunch and for a little bit longer. They have never had much sleep during the day!

Just wondering really when others dropped to one nap?

I'm wondering the same thing with my 11mo. He has (after a week away on hols) started sleeping later in the morning. He WAS doing nap around 10-10.30 for an hour or so whilst i walked the dog and he was in his pushchair. He is now falling asleep later so yesterday did 2 hour nap from 10.30/11.45ish until 12.30, then lunch. He almost fell asleep around 4pm after a bf which I don't always do around that time but sometimes he 'asks', but the dog barked and woke him up so then he was awake until bedtime at 7pm. He is an awful sleeper at night but has been ok with naps until recently though never naps in cot.

He hasn't had a proper afternoon nap unless out in car for several days now.

So I'm thinking longer nap around lunchtime possibly and see what happens?

Though he is up so early. I do worry he doesn't get near enough sleep generally but some kids are like this I think. Seems active and happy enough in daytime.

Oh...well scratch what I said above. It seems 'normal' service has been resumed today with DS's naps. Did 45 mins at 11am ish this morning and just had about an hour this afternoon. So I'll be back to doing bed around 7 for 7.30pm tonight I think. I think they're a bit unpredictable at this age it seems!

Its so difficult to know what they want isn't it?!

DTs for the last two afternoons have managed 25mins. Am going to try today to push them through to 1130 for lunch with no nap and see what happens!

I was thinking about that approach. Big nap after early lunch rather than ending up with a long morning nap and a short late afternoon one. Last night's sleep was horrific though so goodness knows what will happen today. There is no way he is getting enough sleep over all. :(

Well my ten month old is def on one nap now... I think you can tell when they can do one nap as anything more makes bedtime unmanageably late...
