Has your toddler stopped napping?

My DS turned 2 years old in April. I weaned him 2 weeks ago. Bedtime is fine usually. Nap time is horrible. He sleeps on a mattress next to mine, so he is not locked in a crib or anything like that. Every now and then if it is late, like 2:30pm, he will nap without a fight but then he will not go to sleep until 10:30 pm. This is getting bad. If he doesnt nap, he crashes out on me around 5 or 6 and then again, will not go to bed til 10 or so.. Did your toddler do this and when did your children stop napping??? Thanks

Yes my 22month old's nap is getting late in the afternoon & if I allow him to sleep a long nap & wake naturally then he too would be up until all hours.

have you considered waking him from his nap after around an hour? should help him settle better at bedtime. The alternative, if he can last til 5-6pm is to just do a no nap day & do a super early bedtime instead of letting him nap. You should find he'll sleep a longer night.

We are doing just this with our DS most days. He actually had his first 'no nap' day a week ago. He got up at 7am, and we put him to bed at 6pm. He slept through til 7am the next morning - 13hrs. And we had the evening to ourselves - lovely!
