Sleep pattern awful in 5 year old dd

Help! anyone who's got any advice my dd age 5.4 will not sleep through, no crying or shouting, she wakes first around 12.30-1am and does go straight back but then sometimes 2am then 3am and in the last fortnight wakes at 4.30am and that's it. She will play in her room until 5.30am with the occasional shout to mummy or daddy but this is crippling us. We have taken to one of us staying at grandads to get a sleep through. Both of us have quite demanding jobs and it is taking it's toll. My dd has melatonin but goes to bed without bother at 7.15-7.30, the room is dark and she has a nightlight if needed, she is well fed and tired at bedtime. When I ask she says the owl wakes her up (no owls by us). Any advice is greatly received!

does she have any SN or medical issues?

otherwise could you try adjusting her sleep pattern? while a lot of 5 year olds do go to bed at 7.30, plenty more are up til 9ish. maybe a later bedtime might help achieve a more consolidated block of sleep and leave her better rested for school?

Does she have a clock by her bed? We got DS1 (6) a cheap digital clock (£2.99) and told him that he is not allowed to get up before 7.
It seems to have cured it.

Thanks, I have tried 2 or 3 clocks, the bunny ears, the groclock and a cheap digital but they don't work. My daughter has got cp and I think it's something to do with her brain chemistry as she's developing. I'm gonna contact my health visitor tomorrow and have already made appt with the comm. paed. She does go down without any bother so I just can't fathom it out at all!

Does anyone know what other sorts of medication there is out there for a badly sleep deprived 5 year old?
