Saw the other very interesting swaddling thread, but did not want to hijack, so here goes....

It says on there that you shouldn't swaddle LO's legs. I don't get it... how do you do that?

I am expecting DD2. DD1 was firmly not having anything to do with swaddling, even tho I bought her a nice swaddle wrap thing by gro (it's sort of T shaped and made from soft stretchy fabric) but I am hopeful that DD2 might like it, so I'm keen to do it well from the get go.

This will of course ensure that DD2 is an excellent sleeper in stark contrast to her elder sister.

I swaddled all three of mine, think it prob just mean dont bind their legs...

I think it means not binding the legs - so the T-shaped purpose wraps are fine as there is a lot of room for the legs to move, pretty much the same amount as room as in a growbag.

but how? I am obviously very thick - does the downward part of the T go inbetween legs and the side bits just wrap round body and arms so nothing is covering legs at all? Do their little legs not get chilly then?

Grin The T wraps around the top half of their body, with their legs in the 'bag'. The bag is looser than the actual body, so while their legs are inside they are not bound tight. They can bring their legs up to their chest and my DD could always sleep with her legs splayed, but the arms are very tightly bond to their side so the startle reflex is stopped. Does that help? (It took me a few goes to get her inside right!)
