Quilt for a 15 month old?

Hi

Is it ok to give a 15 month old a quilt for his cotbed? Would it have to be tucked down the side or could it be placed loosely over him?

He sleeps n a gro bag at the moment but I was thinking a quilt might make him more cosy ( desperately trying to think of ways to get him to sleep through as he has not done this yet and prefers to be in bed with mammy and daddy)

Thanks

We swapped our dd from sleeping bags to a duvet when she was about 22 months purely because her room was hot at the beginning of the night (about 28 degrees) but cooled down overnight. We thought the duvet would give her more options re covers if she got cold. Obviously she was older than your DS but we didn't ever tuck it in.

I guess if you're concerned you could tuck it under at the bottom so it came to his chin when he's placed feet to foot which might limit the opportunity for ending up under it. Mind you, if he's very wriggly I'd be tempted to leave it loose so he can wriggle out on all 4 sides if necessary (but that's because I remember getting lost under my duvet as a small child and not being able to find my way out...)

Thanks. He is very very wriggly and never sleeps feet to foot which is why I was a bit concerned. I think you're right that it would be better left loose and hen he can wriggle himself out.
Thanks for the advice!
