For the first time! He is six months old and we (ahem, I) had got into the habit of feeding him every time he woke during the night So I went zero tolerance the night before last and left him to cry...then last night he never woke me at all, just slept straight through!

I've now got that "had too much sleep" groggy feeling - it's been a long time since I slept six hours in a row!

Well done Miaou, im so ,
DD (2 years old) was in my bed at 4am singing 'the wheels on the bus' and begging for a bottle.

how bad was the crying? How long did it take?

Miaou · 18/02/2006 18:13

He cried for an hour and a half, bobblehead.

I probably sound like a right mean cow! But he wasn't distressed, just really annoyed. Very loud whingeing.

But he sleeps in the cot right next to my bed and could see me all the time - so he wasn't "abandoned" (just ignored )

That was my stratagy too Miaou, it worked wonders. DD sleeps thru nearly every night now, just gets thrown off by colds etc but once she's better one night of the sitting beside her while she cries herself to sleep does the trick and she's back to sleeping thru. Congrats. It's a great feeling eh?
