How long should a 6 month old be awake for?

I think my 22 w/o DD is starting to want to drop the last nap of the day so just wondered what her awake intervals should ideally look like.

I think they move towards a 2-3-4 pattern. So wake up, first nap is after 2 hours, second nap after 3 hours and bedtime after 4 hours with a possible catnap in the 4 hour chunk until they get to 9 months.

Dd is 21 weeks and has 3-4 naps a day depending on how long they are. Her last one is about 4-30 pm and I limit it to 20 mins or so to make bedtime easier. If she doesn't have it, she flakes out.

Similar to iggly. Mine would have a nap 2 hrs after she woke for about an hour, then a long nap after 2.5/3 hrs and this would see her through to bedtime. The long nap was 2-2.5 hrs. So her day might look like this:

Wake 7am
Nap 9-10am
Next nap 12.30-3
Bed 7pm

Thanks ladies! I'll try easing her into this though I think she seemed to be heading to this anyway.
