6 month old screaming at night

My 6 month old DD used to sleep from 7pm through til 5am. Over the past few weeks, her sleep has been getting worse and worse. She will still go down around 7, but the waking up starts within the first 2-3 hours. Last night she was awake and screaming every 90 minutes. She is teething at the moment but is getting Calpol, gel and powders so shouldn't be in a lot of pain.

I'm going back to work in 3 weeks and I'm desperate to get her sleeping back on track. My NCT friends babies are all sleeping through and it's doing my head in. Any ideas? Please help! I'm on my knees with exhaustion.

DS was like this at 6 months. No ideas but want to give u some sympathy. it did get better with time. Teething is awful. Hopefully someone will come along with some ideas.

Me too!! Screams like he's being murdered every hour and a half or so..... I'm guessing at the end of his sleep cycle. Sometimes it's one squark and then he resettles but others I'm not so lucky!! I've rushed in a fee times trying to nip a meltdown in the bud and he is actually still asleep. Bad dreams? Who knows?! He's also really started to fight his daytime naps. I'm hoping it's a development thing !! sorry, really not much help but just wanted you to know you're not the only one Smile

Night terrors? Ds has these and they started at 6 months. He screamed and appeared to be awake but wasn't.

Separation anxiety? My DD bursts into tears when strangers/friends talk to me at mo (7 months). She is also screaming and waking at night (but nothing new there!). What I would give for a good night's sleep. My midwife told me that in a recent study 75% of babies woke in the night until they were 1.

Thanks ladies. It's so good to know im not the only one as apparently all my NCT group babies sleep perfectly Envy. I guess I'll just have to pray she grows out of it ASAP!

Ds is nearly 8 and still has night terrors. He had one tonight. Difference now is he runs around the house screaming in terror and I have to try and steer him back to his bedroom and try and calm him down.
