Irrational Anger

So after months of waking and going in, ssssh, back to sleep darling, sometimes having to let him CIO, DS (11 months) has slept from 7 until almost 7 the last 2 weeks.

Tonight DH has a cough leftover from his man flu and stomped downstairs to look for cough mixture and I hear (after being woken several times already by said coughing) doors opening and shutting, blowing his nose, back up the stairs and clinking of child gate. And 2 minutes later yep, an histerical awake baby who is sitting up in his cot sobbing away and obviously confused at being awake.

I try to settle, have to change dirty nappy, try to eventually let him CIO and then feed him. He's now asleep in my arms and I need to move him back but I almost don't want to as every time I went back tinned DH kept saying 'sorry honey' so of course I feel obligated to say 'it's ok, go to sleep'. (Disclaimer: he did come out to try and help but I told him to go to bed as I was just too annoyed with him then).

So I know I'm being irrational, I know it probably won't undo all our good work, but grrrrrrr Angry

I feel you're pain. Slightly different but I have a nasty, drippy cold. My 6 month old is a bad enough sleeper but trying to bf him and settle him back down without coughing and sneezing and having to start all over again is nigh on impossible Sad

He's ill & apologised? I wouldn't have got that. I'm sure things will settle back soon

Totally understand the rage at DH BUT if your DS had a dirty nappy he probably was woken by doing a poo rather than being woken by your husband....??

I dot think he'd have done the dirty nappy of he hadn't woken up, but hey I knew I was being unfair. We've all just woken up after I fed him at 4am so at least he didn't still get up at 6.30, ha. Thanks for listening to me moan. I'm glad I just kept telling DH to go to sleep and didn't make a big deal of it to him as it never looks or feels as bad during the day does it.

Cheers ladies. Smile
