Was this a night terror?

About 1.30am 1 year old DD started SOBBING (not crying, not screaming but sobbing like a child who was in real distress). We went into her room and she was curled up on her front, I picked her up and tried to cradle her but she was still sobbing and doing this weird jerking movement with her head and body. I took her into our room to wake her up which worked but then she started feeling hot so I took her temperature which was 38.7. We gave her some calpol and she went back to sleep after about an hour. She's not hot now so could it have been a night terror that caused her to overheat or vice versa. I was worried she was having a febrile convulsion but not sure what they look like plus she wasn't that hot.

It could be that the raised temp was the cause of the reaction, sobbing etc. My last two DD's all had routine high temp's that would go hand in hand with quite strange jerking, noises, without waking up.

They also used to get a rash a couple of days later. Night terrors are more of a scream and are very alarming.
