Unsettled ALL night

DS is almost 12 weeks and has recently stopped feeding in middle of the night. He usually has bottle 5-7 oz EBM at 1030 and the will go through til 6am. But he is not asleep the whole time! Last night I had to go in at 1am 230, 430, 445, 5am, 510 and then he woke properly at 610. I thought maybe he was so restless as he was hungry but I am pretty sure it's not that. He has clear hunger cues but when I go in he has eyes closed just moaning/crying and moving about a lot. He just seems to need constant re settling.

I usually put him down semi awake for naps and then he feeds to sleep in the evening. When he goes down for naps he usually has a dummy. Do you think he can't settle himself as when he wakes in the night he doesn't have the dummy? When I go in I give him the dummy and he goes straight to sleep! Any tips in weaning him off the dummy or other ideas to help him settle at night. DH never hears him so I am getting up and down all night and am feeling exhausted!

Thanks for any help!

OMG Emy I could be you! My LO isn't breastfed but her last feed is about 9:00pm and will go until 8:00am the next day but wakes up constantly during the night! Its exhausting isn't it? My LO dropped the night feed quite early and we didn't think it was hunger as her eyes are still closed when she wakes and moves about before going back to sleep. I too question the dummy thing as she also has a dummy to go to bed with and seems to lose it constantly during the night. I would say that if your LO isn't too hot/cold, hungry, suffering with wind/colic and isn't teething then there shouldn't be any reason for the waking up! Mine is the same, she doesn't have any of the above but she does suffer with reflux so we put it down to that! Sorry no advice, just lots of sympathy for you! I'm holding onto the "it will pass" comments that people keeping telling me Smile

hang in there!
