My Ds is 3yr 4m and has recently started to wake once, twice sometimes more in the night. He is still wearing a nappy overnight and i wondered if when he wees it wakes him and now he has a habit of getting up and coming to our room. We return him to bed where he will more often than not just go back to sleep no problem. This is now worse as we have a 6wk old so if its not one its the other!! The new arrival will im sure also have had an impact.
What i need is advice about turning this issue around so he can return to the fantastic sleeper he has always been........ any offers?

My wee fella (2.6) has started doing the same thing. He is in a night time nappy too and I wondered if that was the case with him as well but I think it's more to do with him dreaming and waking himself up.
We put him back no eye contact or chat and this week has been better he has only woken once or twice and slept through once. We made a sticker chart with present if he got 5 stickers this week.
He says he needs a wee or a poo when he wakes or that he wants to come in with us but he rarely does anything if you take him to the loo.
Good luck persevere with putting him back quietly and it should settle down
