Cc questions!

hi all

Have gradually been reducing night feeds by a minute each time and are now down to just 2 mins.

When we start cc tonight for his night time wake up I was just wondering, I know you're supposed to go in quietly, no fuss etc, but I'd like to just make sure he's generally ok before we begin. So would it be wrong to pick him up at the first check? I suppose I want to be confident he doesn't have a poo nappy, for example, and they don't smell strong enough anymore to just sniff through his clothes! Last few nights he has actually done a poo at 2 am which he never normally does! Typical.

Also I am planning to do 1 min, 2 mins, 3,4,5 etc rather than bigger intervals. Any reason I shouldn't do I this way?

And lastly, how long should we go on before backing down- 1hr? 2hrs? I don't want to quit but I thi k we'd like to have a cut off time. What do you think?

How old I'd your ds? I done cv for one night and went in every few min. It was awful. never done it agai. I think how long of time I leave it is upto you. if ds was still crying after and hour or so then I would prob just conform him.

Have u tried gradual withdrawal on nectarines thread? I've had ammmmazing results with that!! Xx

Thanks for the replies. DS is 9 months. I didn't do it in the end as he was quite poorly over weekend. I don't think Nectarina's technique would work for us, amazing as it does sound - he gets more and more frustrated by our presence, whereas I think he'd actually settle much better without us there. He self settles at bedtimes and naps, so really we're half way there and it's only to tackle one or two night wakings.
