I know he's only tiny but I'm completely paranoid about creating good sleep habits.

Feeding to sleep doesn't really work anyway as he's so refluxy and windy he needs to be burped thoroughly during and after feeds.

He will settle in his moses basket with some patting and shhing but it can take ages and my 2yo is getting a bit fed up with it Grin. AND he often wakes after 30-5mins.

I think he is staying awake too long but it's sooo hard to cram in a feed and nappy and anything else into a teeny 1hr awake window.

Not sure what I'm asking here....what do other people do? With DS1 I devoted my entire existence to a nap routine; not an option now (probably just as well) but what to do instead??

Thanks, I know I'm being ridiculous....

Not a lot. Dd2 is a bit older but all I have done is try to make sure she has reasonably regular naps so doesnt get over tired and not to set up any habits (always feeding, pushchair etc). So far is working ok as a lot easier to settle than dd1 who was a hold to sleep type til well over a year.

Have also found Ewan the sheep invaluable at night (check out amazon) - its a bed toy that mimics the womb. It's as creepy as hell but works (and I have tried A LOT of sleep stuff with dd1)

Also 30-50 is about normal as isn't that about length of a sleep cycle?

Yeah, DS1 did the 45min nap thing for ages (til about 5m) and it drove me nuts! He just couldn't get over the hump into the next cycle. Slept ok at night though

Does your DD2 nap in her cot then?
