3 week old has stuffy nose and can't settle - any advice?

Help! DD2 is 3 weeks old and a lovely baby. She goes off to sleep at 8pm, wakes at 12am for a feed and then again at 3am. Anytime after that her breathing becomes laboured, her nose stuffy and she sounds slightly wheezy. She can't settle and it means that I'm constantly feeding, rocking or pacing the floor with her to try and get her back to sleep at about 7am when I have to get up for DD1. She's done this since she was born.

I am knackered!

I've tried:

saline drops
tilting the head of her moses basket so she's sleeping on an angle
half a cut onion near her

She doesn't have a stuffy nose in the day. She doesn't have mucus around her nose.

Would cranial osteopathy work?

We've all had colds so maybe this is just a really long one that she can't fight off?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

when you feed, dilute a little children's menthol rub (like snufflebabe/vicks etc) with vaseline and rub it on your boob or on a cloth wrapped around the bottle depending on how your feeding.

How about sleeping her in her car seat at night then she's at an angle and less likely to get blocked up.

A Lot of babies are snuffly for the first few weeks cos they still have some fluid left over from the womb - it might not actually be a cold, but I would take her to your GP because of the wheeziness you're hearing - that needs to be cjecked out.

Fantastic. Thanks, I'll try that tonight.

Keep your fingers crossed!

Will take her to the docs as well.
