dd clunks head on cot each night

So each night when I go to bed I am woken several times by dd, 15 months, moving around her cot in her sleep and clunking her head against the ends. It doesn't usually wake her, or if it does she settles herself quickly, but just wondered is this normal? If I put her lower down the cot she moves herself up it. I don't want to use bumpers as i think she's use them as a step to climb out of it, and the ends are solid anyway, not bars. This is why skulls are thick right?

I did use bumpers for this reason and also to stop my daughter posting her dummies through them at night (the cause of many sleepless nights!), and at 28 months she's never once tried to climb out using them. I'm not sure she could as the bumper fabric gives way when I press down on it and woudln't give her much leverage anyway (but I have heard of children doing this so you're right to factor it in).

If it doesn't wake her or bother her, I wouldn't worry. If it were hard enough to hurt or do any damage, I'm sure it would wake her.
