...and what type of bed can you attach them to? We have a wooden frame so not sure what we'd do about the gap between the rail and the frame. Any tips welcome!

I got one of these
www.safetots.co.uk/Travelling-Sun-Care-&-Swimming/Sleeping-Aids/Travel-Bed-Guards/c124_919_135/p123/-babydan-sleep-safe-bed-guard-blue/product_info.html?osCsid=7l0iqhl88crrvs79lfl6lams56
as it said it was OK to use with slatted bed bases - most say divan only.

That's definitely the kind of thing I'm after, unfortunately our base comes a little bit up the sides of the mattress as the mattress kind of slots into the base. Wonder if its not going to be possible to find a rail that fits :(

it might be ok - I've used it on all sorts of beds. Currently on one of http://www.warrenevans.com/beds/platform_bed/?fgid=9 where the mattress sits inside a wooden frame. I just shove the mattress over a little - there's usually some room for manoeuvre.

We have one of these and I love it so much - www.purpledaisies.co.uk/ - it's easy for me to get in and out of bed (had one of the other kind with DD and spent 18 months clambering over the bloody thing) plus there's no gap for them to fall down. It's fab.

scottygirl5 · 24/02/2012 06:51

Interesting. At what age do they start to climb over it?

Ooh I don't know. DS is 7 months so not yet! DD is 3.5 years and has the other kind and can climb over that - the thing I liked about the foam one though was it stopped them rolling out but still made getting in and out of bed easy. If you want to keep them in bed then the other kind might be better.
