3 / 4 month sleep regression - how bad is it?

To give some background I have insomnia / anxiety issues around sleep and cope very badly with sleep deprivation so the newborn phase was never going to be easy, especially when breastfeeding. Fortunately my ten week old is a great sleeper (now only waking once or twice a night) but I'm already dreading sleep regression Sad. Do all babies experience it? Is it really as hellish as it sounds, or are the cases on the sleep regression threads extreme examples?

dd1 didn't have any sleep regression. She went to sleep at 7 and woke once for feeding from 12 onwards.

dd2 was a nightmare sleeper. She didn't fall asleep until 9-11pm and woke up once/twice a night for 2 hours at a time. She just slowly improved until she slept straight through 7 to 7 at five months.
