After some advice re. 10 week old...

Evening all, after some advice please!

My 10 week old ds is a pretty good baby and sleeper, we manage to get him to sleep most nights by 7.30 and he wakes for 2 feeds most nights, 11 then 3/4 then can wait til breakfast, usually gets up any time from 7.30 til 9, mostly 8am though. However, left up to ds he would probably get up about 6am, sometimes earlier and although he will mostly stay in his own bed til 6am ish, with feeds and settling, dummy in etc, I have to get him in bed with me for last couple of hours before getting up...

At the moment, I'd rather get him in bed with me, where he goes to sleep again and I can doze for a bit longer than battle with him, or worst still, get up soooo early!

So two things really, will he grow out of needing to come into bed with me in early hours and any tips for getting him to stay in his bed until it is time to get up? He is still tired because when he comes into my bed he goes to sleep again almost immediately. I have tried shushing, rocking in cot and out, dummy in, lullaby thing, leaving him for a minute or so to see if he'll settle then as last resort, I get him in with me. Any thoughts or advice gratefully received x

Have you tried swaddling him? My 7 w/old sleeps best when swaddled, and wakes if she manages to wriggle out of her swaddle. Sometimes if she wakes early and isnt hungry, shell either happily lie there and look around until feed time or if unsettled, I get up and re-swaddle her. That normally does the trick, feels like a nice tight hug.

Hello, I did swaddle him until about 6 weeks but he just started spending first ten minutes of sleepy time fighting out of it so stopped! I put him in one of those baby sleeping bags now or just tucked blankets round him tightly...he likes to be hands free now! Grin
