DS is 13 weeks and has been sleeping from 7pm to 5am, but in the last week has been waking at 1am too. From what I've read you should be dropping a dream feed at this stage if you are doing it, but should I try introduce it now to try and help her push through?

I'm starting her on solids in 3 weeks, so perhaps I should just hold out till then? I am going back to work next week though, so would appreciate the extra bit of sleep

s/he could well be having a growth spurt, and if so, a boost to milk intake whatever time of day would not go amiss. You won't spoil his sleep patterns - its too early for hard-set patterns to be formed, there will be many more changes and phases yet. So if a dream feed helps you both, why not. :)

Thanks Snowbeetle. Will try it tonight (BTW I made a mistake it is a DD). It is very hot where I live at the moment so I've tried giving water instead, but she spits it out.

good luck. 'Play it by ear' is my mummy motto. Babies don't do much 'by the book' so what you 'should' be doing is only a guide - listen to your baby first and foremost - which it sounds like you do. I'm sure you're doing a brilliant job and she is still young to be sleeping through so any sleeping through is a bonus, and the odd backtrack is to be expected. Rest when you can and you will be getting more sleep in no time in the grand scheme of things. Grin

Thanks for the words of encouragement. She slept to 3am and then had a bottle and is now wide awake at 6am and playing. YAWN
