Advice on co-sleeping

Dd is 6 days old and so far has coslept with me, but even though it's lovely I'm really nervous about it. Do you think this sounds ok?
Basically dh is on one side of the bed, I'm in the middle and dd on the far side. Loads of space as its a super kingsize. I only have the duvet on my legs, so it's nowhere near her, she is swaddled in muslin, and then cuddled up next to me. Her cot is pushed up against the edge of the bed to act as a bedguard. She's sleeping brilliantly (infact I need to wake her up to feed her..) and I love the closeness. But I am just nervous about safety. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds lovely! Ds slept on me at this age. I was a Bad Mum so no idea about the safety side, so hopefully someone will come along to reassure you, or give you real advice however it sounds like you are considering all possible risks and managing them, so I would say enjoy it!

Sounds like a great set up Smile
If you havent already I would recommend reading Deborah Jackson's book three in a bed. It helps allay any fears and gives lots of information on the benefits. I co-sleep with dd and she is nearly 4 months. We haven't had any problems. I feel more aware of her breathing patterns and temperature than I would be if she was in a cot overnight.
