Big bed

Hi, advice needed please!

We have a 2.4 yo DD and are expecting a new baby in 6 weeks. We have decided to move DD to a bed so that we can use the cot for the baby. It's the first night tonight and DD seemed really excited to be moving into a big girl's bed BUT having put her down at the usual time she just won't settle. When we go in she says she doesn't like her bed and wants the cot.

Anyone got any ideas of how we can help her adjust? She has a night light and everything else is the same as usual.

No advice but interested to take on any suggestions as we are taking delivery of our DD's new bed in the next week. She's 2. At the moment I just can't see how she's going to stay in it!!!

Just one idea...did she help to choose new quilt etc? might help.

have you got a bed guard? Might help her feel more enclosed

Yes we have and she chose her duvet cover and pillow. She'll now lie in the bed but just seems really excited by it all, she's quite frantic. We're not sure how to calm her down
