Dd now sleeping through but I can't! Any tips?!

I'm so grateful that dd started sleeping through 11 or 12 hours! Without leaving her to cry it out, just readjusting room temperature much cooler that I thought and by giving her a few minutes to self settle - turns out she did within ten minutes so I'd probably been disturbing her!

I'm back at work so would like to take advantage of her sleeping through. However, I still wake up at four out of habit as she used to. She would go back to sleep but I wouldn't and can't now! It's been two weeks that she's slept through, but I still can't.

Any advice? Thank you!

Lucky you Smile Have a nice bath and warm milk or ovaltine before bed. You will adjust soon

thank you! I could still do with help on this. warm bath and ovaltine help me drop off into a lovely sleep around nine. but I stir around four and just cannot ever get back to sleep. I stay cosy in bed but think it's some kind of block now.

to reset my body clock should I try going to bed at ten? any remedial I can take at four to help me drop off?

big thank you!

Hi, I've had the same problem in the past (DD has started waking up at 4am again now though).

I work full time in quite a stressful job and found that when I woke out of habit work matters flooded my brain and that made getting back to sleep hard. I've found exercising (the last thing I want to do) after DD goes to bed and before dinner improves the quality of the sleep I get and stops me lying awake at night.

How old is your LO? Considering turning temp down in my ds's room....but not sure if he's too young (6m)? He wakes 3-4 times at night....but doesn't really want anything except a drink of water. Sorry for change of subject....but just curious. Grin

If I slept from 9 I'd have the same problem! How much sleep are you trying to get?
Go to bed later while you can

dd is 7mo, and funnily enough forced the day I turned the heater off in her room marked the start of her sleep through. maybe a coincidence, but over Christmas the in laws house was quite chilly at night and she slept quite well. so I tried it at home, she is in a grobag and blanket, room cooler than I would have thought and she sleeps great.

cocoa am back at work too, same thing, I start thinking too much. will try the exercise tip.

hilly you are right, I'm starting to go to bed later and hope that'll help! ideally ten or eleven until half six would be great for me.

thank you.
