Having 17 month dd in-between us

DD going through a phase of night waking at present due to usual illness/teeth. I sometimes have her on my side feeding and then dozing on me. However I worry about her rolling off the bed. Don't really want or trust a bedrail. Given her age is it safe to have her in-between myself and DP? He has high sleep awareness, he has been to known to wake in the night worrying about her whereabouts!

Says in No Cry Sleep solution that they can co-sleep with someone other than the mother from 18 months as they should be big enough to look after themselves.

Thanks...she's a 90th centile whopper so maybe we can go a month earlyGrin

Some people co-sleep with their baby from birth with the baby in between so at 17mo I would imagine she'd be OK!

My DD is 20 months old, but quite small for it - she was weighed a couple of weeks ago and was less than 10 kilo.

Thankfully she doesn't need it often but for the past couple of months if she wakes in the night and needs cuddles she comes into our bed and sleeps between me and DH.

I would say if you're happy with it then go for it.
