Help with my six year old!

Please help us! Up until about 6 months ago my daughter was a brilliant sleeper and we had a good routine. Now, no matter what we do she will not go to sleep until about ten, no matter how tired she is. I put her to bed about 7.30/8.00 on school days and read her a story etc to settle her after a bath. After this she will find any reason to be out of bed or shout me (drink/food/something REALLY important to tell me/needs toliet etc). She gets up to play as well. I know the simple solution might seem to be to ignore her but trust me I've tried this and it doesn't work! She will scream the house down for an hour. I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle. It's now really affecting her behaviour and it's such a battle every morning to get her up for school and ready especially when we've got to go to work. She tells me every morning how she's really tired and needs a lie in (she'll sleep til 10am Sunday's) I've tried pointing out to her that she feels so angry and is misbehaving due to being tired. Why can't she just give in and go to sleeeeeppp!!! Any suggestions welcome!

Hi,sorry I can't offer any advice but have a similar problem with my 5yr old at the moment. He has never been a great sleeper but at the moment won't fall asleep until about 8pm and is awake at about 6am everymorning and spends the day grumpy, rude, tired and has no energy to do anything. And he NEVER sleeps in later than about 7.15am, even if it's been a special occasion and he han't gone to bed until 10pm. I am at the end of my tether!
