Transition from swaddle to sleeping bag

My 4 month old DD has been swaddled for naps & at nighttime since birth - she is usually a very good sleeper. I've tried to swaddle her using a blanket, but she always breaks free, so use a swaddleme.

I'm now trying to transition her to a sleeping bag, as I don't think the swaddleme is warm enough in winter, and I also thought it would be easier trying to do the transition now, rather than waiting til she's older. However, whenever I try the sleeping bag she is impossible to settle & just cries & flails her arms about wildly.

Has anyone got any tips?

Keep trying! I remember my DD went back and forth a few times between swaddle and bag but eventually she was used the bag and was able to sleep without hitting herself in the face. The changes are great from week to week so persist and she will get the hang of it.

My daughter is 9 months, I still have to swaddle her during the day for naps but she has a bag at night. Do you rock her? If so could you try wrapping a blanket over the top of her bag between you and her to hold her arms still until she falls asleep then remove the blanket when you put her down?

We used a peke moe (sorry you'll need to google it) DD finally went into a bag @ 11 months. Really helped us.

A peke moe really helped us to for DS1 who was a complete swaddle addict. For DS2, when I stopped swaddling I used an Ergococoon (google!), then a peke moe, then a sleeping bag, but I rattled through them all fairly quickly - probably 2 weeks from swaddle to sleeping bag, at about 5 months (DS1 got "stuck" in his peke moe for ages, I think from 7 until about 15 months, the peke moe - sleeping bag transition was also an issue).
