21 month old moving to bed - problems

Past a regression around a year dd has been a great sleeper in her cot doing 7pm to 7 or 8 am with no probs (unless ill of course). 3 weeks ago we moved her to a big girl bed in preparation for dc2 arriving in Feb.

Although we have had good nights of sleep from 7pm to 6.30am the trend is now moving defiantly to one or two wake ups between midnight and five and then up at 6.30am. I have been going in and sleeping on her floor but it is doing my pg back/joints no good at all so have stopped doing it. Last night I got so desperate I closed the door on her. Two mins later she was back in bed and settling so although not there nicest thing to do it was firm enough to work.

The thing is that at any wake up she SCREAMS. I mean really lets rip, it means that during the night and in the morning I start off nerves frazzled already and in the night it takes me ages to calm down and get back to sleep.

Any tips on stopping the SCREAMING and the night time wake ups? She is a loud, tantrum type anyway but has never done this at night before.
