My DS is 2yrs old and today we have taken the sides of of his cot bed and made it into a bed. Very excited about "My Bed" but will not sleep in it and although we ahve put him back init twice already tonight, hes not happy. Will this pass or will he just keel ver with exhasution in the end, feeling a bad mum at the moment. Help me!

We are going to have the same thing shortly.
I'm going to put one of those ready beds next to his cot for a few nights so he can see his next bed and get the idea of practising
Then progress onto a proper first bed.
Other than that waiting for advice too!

I didn't put ds into his own bed until he was almost three. He made no attempt to escape from his cot and I knew he would if in a bed.
If you stick at it I am sure he will lose interest in getting up-make no fuss just take him back etc. good luck

ok gave up trying with this one as by 11.01pm that night he had gotten out of bed over 100 times and we would not even have shut the door before he came out of his room. After, and I thought I would never do this- sleeping on the floor in his room he finally went to sleep. The next night the same, so after 2 hours the sides went back on.

Oh boy then it started, he now climbs out of the cot!!! had not done this before,oh god let the genie out of the bottle or what!

Now will not even sleep under his quilt that we weaned him onto over the last month and is back in his restraining "grow bag"! as he cannot climb out with this.......I hope.
Please help with ideas as his grow bag is on the last few weeks for growth or he will be too small and this is an up to 4 year old bag.

My 23mt old went into a bed a month ago and I was on here asking for advice on the most painless transfer, mostly they said cold turkey was best and so thats what we tried, the first time he got out we said it was nanite time and what to look forward to the next day, every time after that we just put him back to bed silently and left the room(sounds easy?) it wasn't we put him down around 40 times thro the night, but every night got easier ,took us 4/5 very long nights but we feel very pleased with ourselves, hang in there!
