Moving a night fidget to bed from cot - tips?

So in a couple of months I'll be moving DS from his cot into a single bed. He'll be exactly 2. He's a complete fidget at night, turning 360 degrees countless times, and that's just before he falls asleep! He wears a sleeping bag at the moment, but I have some of that stay on Grobag bedding to start him off, and will be using a bedrail.
Has anyone got any tips for how to ease the transition, particularly with regard to helping him stay in one place!
Thanks Smile.

my DS was a right wriggler. with a decent bed rail on a cot bed it almost completely goes from one end of the bed to the other. So he doesn't fall out.
Also giving him a pillow seemed to help as he likes having his head on it, so doesn't seem to move around as much

We moved DD from cot to bed at 14 months because we could hear her smashing around the cot sides all night as she was so fidgety. We got a very low adult sized single (malm from ikea) so that even if she fell out she wouldn't have far to go onto a carpeted floor. We've found that with the bed rails and the increased room she's a much less fitful sleeper than she ever was. Stairgate at her bedroom door and we're all sleeping much better as a result. We also ditched the gro-bags and switched to a duvet (tucked in around mattress) and pillow and check that she's covered before we go to bed.

Thanks ladies, good to hear it can be a positive move! Off to research bedrails...
