Quick nap question

PemPemLondon · 07/11/2011 17:49

Will dS ever sleep for longer than 45 mins during the day? He's 4.5 months. Occasionally manage to extend a nap by furiously rocking buggy at the 45 min marker, but it rarely works. He has 4 x 45 min naps a day.

Will longer naps emerge naturally or am i doing something wrong?

Thanks!

They'll come naturally. This was a problem for us but DS got the hang of it around 7 months although in a sling he always napped longer, no problem.

Until DD was about 5 months she rarely napped at all. Once she could roll over she suddenly started napping and as she gets more and more mobile (she's now 6 months and shuffles quite far) she naps more and more, now we have 2 sometimes 3 naps of 1-2 hrs a day. I'm sure it'll happen naturally.

I have this problem too with DS who is 3 months. I hope it will improve as he's often so tired by the evening! DD was a short napper too though and it never really got any better Sad...

Mine was a bit like that but around the 6 month mark something changed and she started doing a couple of hours at a time. blissful

Thanks all. I do try to make sure he has 2.5 hrs sleep a day, but there are always tears! Fingers crossed for the 6 month mark!
