Anyone's 1 year old do this with their naps?

So, she has decided to drop the second nap. But, she wakes somewhere between 6 and 7, and wants her morning nap at 10. She sleeps for 1 and a half to 2 hours, and doesn't want to sleep again until bedtime. Is that not a bit odd, shouldn't she be dropping the morning nap rather than the afternoon nap?

Mine did this just before a year too. I do think it is the afternoon nap that tends to go first, although I am never quite sure why babies need a nap so soon after a nice long night sleep!

My DD's nap is gradually getting later and she now goes down at 11 and sleeps for about 2 hours now. I guess it will continue to get later as she gets older.

Same here. Dd dropped her second nap at around 10 months. Her morning nap got later and longer gradually. Now naps at 11.30. You could try pushing her nap back by ten mins every few days. She still got tired later in the afternoon but would not nap, she is use to it now.

Thanks for the replies, its good to hear that I'm not on my own. Might try pushing back the nap alright, that is a great idea!

it shocked me how quickly she decided she didn't need 2 naps anymore! She took a wee while to settle into 1 nap and for the first week or so I took her for a walk in the pram about 4ish so she could take a wee 15 min catch up if needed,

Same here. Mine sleeps much better and longer if he has his nap in the morning rather than the afternoon. No idea why, but I just count my blessings that he has a decent nap and sleeps through the night. Who cares when that nap is. I have friends who's babies simply don't sleep in the day

Mine does this sometimes and its annoying because I can see he's so tired but doesn't want to sleep.

What I tend to do in the afternoon is once he starts showing any signs of sleepiness I give him his dummy and put him in his cot. Doesn't always work but normally he'll fall asleep again.
