Would you get a cot bed guard

.So, DD had the side of her cotbed taken down last weekend and whilst she doesn't seem to be falling out dramatically or causing herself any damage - I have been in numerous times and she's on the floor, sometimes whinging, sometimes when I have been on my way to bed and I've been checking on her.

She got a bit of a cold which could well have been from this new habit - the room has 3 outside walls and an incredibly thin carpet on concrete - and obvioulsy with winter fast approaching, don't want this to get too common

Debating whether to invest in a bed guard as we are seriously struggling at the moment and they all seem to be about £25-30. Anyone got any recommendations - or do you think it is worthwhile just putting her back in whenever we find her on the floor?

Can you put a duvet folded up on the floor? Or put the side back up?
Some people say they'll get the hang of it - with DS we got foam bed guards but they aren't cheaper by much. He's much happier now though!

Thanks for the reply - we have a duvet beside the cot now but think we will get the guard as she has been sleeping through for a while and this is just causing her to have disturbed nights...

Can your DS climb over the guards though - so does he appear at your bedside every morning? I don't think I want her as 'restrained' as when she was in the cot but if she can get out unless she's lying down, I think it could be a winner!

Yes he can get out as the guard is very low - only stops rolling. However a normal bedguard wouldn't stop him either as he'd just shuffle down.

But no he rarely gets out in the night - only recently as he's ill (even then he stays in his room and calls us).

Could you maybe put a couple of pillows under the mattress outer edge to raise it slightly. Then she would have to roll up a small incline to fall out and this should be difficult to do!!

I remember thinking about getting a guard but by the time I got round to actually parting with any money he stopped falling out of bed.

Just a quick update - she slept through last night ... I did put the whole rolled up blanket under the mattress and whilst it might have just been because she was sooooooo tired from the previous nights, I am hoping it's repeated tonight... and forever more!
