6 week old ds - wont sleep in cot/pram help needed!

ds 6 weeks old does not seem to like lying flat on his back.
since he was born he always pulled his legs up in discomfort, we assumed this was colic have given him colief which did help. he spent first 2 weeks sleeping in rocker/car seat as he seemed more settled upright.
colief drops made his poo more runny, so we have since stopped them. ddont think he has colic, although he does suffer with bringing up his wind.

he hasnt wanted a feed during the night for the last 2 weeks (which is great), but he goes down now and wakes about 4 hours later and is then settled. keep putting dummy in and as soon as it comes out he is un-settled again, although not crying. sorry to say he has been in bed with me! want to break this habbit b4 it gets out of hand.

tried to put him to sleep in cot/pram flat on back in day, he lasts about 1/2 hour. will settle in rocker or car seat.
have raised cot with books and put towel under mattress doesnt seem to heelp.

just read about reflux/acid, could this be the problem.

sorry so long winded, just exhausted and desparate to sort.

dd 4 years suffer reflux (she vomited, used gaviscon), i had a milk intolorence as a child.

ds on sma gold

i would take him to see an osteopath! they're fantastic! work wonders...

if that doesn't work then maybe change his formula? ds never got on with sma

If it is now because he just won't settle then I had the same prob with my Dd (now 11 weeks). I had to be quite strict with her in the end. I put her in her cot with her dummy, moved to the other side of the room and waited. If she started crying I went to her, soothed her without picking her up, gave her back her dummy and then retreated again. It took a couple of weeks to get her down, but now she goes down without a problem.

If he is still bringing his legs up to his torso as if in pain I'd visit your Doc. Explain that you've tried colic relief drops but they haven't made a difference and see what he says.

Good luck, Gem.

tried just putting dummy back in, in daytime he will just cry if in his pram

night time totally different, trying to get him settled b4 he wakes the house up or eventually wide wake and wants a feed.

feel like a new mum as did not have any sleep problems with hdd.

Have you tried swaddling him? It helped my ds when he went through a stage of only sleeping in the carseat.

other than that, try feeding little and often?
