my dd 16mths has a red lava lamp night light on a shelf in her room (so she cant get it) which she likes to watch as she drops off to sleep. I turn it off when i go to bed at about 10.30pm but just lately she has been waking on the odd night crying cos she cant find her "fimbo" toy in the dark.

Is it ok to leave the light on all night? am worried about it affecting her eyesight. Your thoughts please.......

Both my kids had one - and they are fine .....

Surely its a bit like leaving the landing light on ?

So long as DD is happy ( and you get a good nights sleep ) I wouldn't worry too much

My sister had a lava lamp which exploded! I think a nightlight is fine, but you may want to reconsider the idea of the lava lamp.

John Lewis sell nursery lamps that rotate, casting a pattern on the wall. They're lurvely, and like the lava lamp, they provide something to watch.
