Somebody please, please help me Ds is 14mths and has been sleeping through since 8mths after we tried cc. He is very good at night time now and sleeps from 8pm til 7am so i cant grumble there. However he generally has two naps during the day one from 9.30 til 11am and then his afternoon nap which is from 2pm til 4pm although if we go out ds can keep going til bed time. The problem is that Ds is now refusing to nap in his cot during the day even though he is tired and has resorted to sleeping on my shoulder instead. As soon as i go to put him in his cot he clings to me and starts to kick out and scream hysterically if i put him in. I have left him to cry (no more then 30mins) as he does normally cry a little before he goes off to sleep anyway but he is really working himself up and refuses to give in.For the first few days i rocked him to sleep which only took a few minutes to do as i thought he may be teething or poorly but this is now the 6th day it has happened.Ive tried to slip him into his cot once he falls asleep but he always wakes up screaming. Today i tried again putting him in his cot to no avail but this time i refused to let him fall asleep on me thinking maybe he doesnt need his morning nap he ended up falling asleep mid-lunch in his high chair. Can someone please tell me whats going on?

Thank God I'm not alone!!
My DD is 12 months old next week and she's been exactly the same as yours for 2 weeks now! She's always slept for 12 hours a night but now wakes once a night screaming until picked up. All of a sudden her naps went out the window... SOOO tired and miserable but when you put her to bed, she screams!! What IS this? She's always been an easy baby...

suddenly waking in thr night at approx 12 months is a well-recognised developmental stage. DS started to do this when he started walking. He's teething and had his MMR/MenC 12 days ago and is horrible during the night. I'm giving him 2 more weeks then it's no more booby in the night...

So glad to hear we're not alone! Myy DD actually had an hour in her cot today which is how she used to be.. So maybe these ARE only temporary hitches. We'll see what she's like tonight. It was every hour last night!!!

Could it be he doesn't need both naps? DS2 is also 14 months, he sleeps 13 hours at night and one nap after lunch of 1-2 hours, have to say its quite a while since he dropped the morning nap and I seem to remember my older 2 having a similar pattern.
