DD is 15 months and for the last month or so she's slept 11 hours at night with an hour and 20 minute nap at lunch time. She dropped her morning nap very suddenly about 6 weeks ago.

She's never been a big sleeper though. A friend of her still has a good 2 hours at lunch time and at least 12, sometimes 13 hours at night so they're all different.

Is she difficult to settle because she's over tired? The advice I was given was that if you can sort out the naps, bedtime gets easier.

I think the average is 13-15 hours. At that age ds had 1 nap of 1-2 hours and about 11 hours overnight.

At 14 months my daughter slept for probably 10h - 10h 30m at night (yes, v early starts, ugh) then around an hour in the day, often in two crappy naps. So less than 12 hours most days.

Happily at 18mo she now often sleeps for 11h 30m at night, plus a mahoosive (for her) 90 mins in the day. So that's around 13h on a good day.
