18-month old - not napping

My 18-month old was taking one nap a day after lunch but now refuses to go to sleep in the day? Not sure what to do... Do I give up on the nap, or is he still too little to last until bedtime? If I take him out though, he falls asleep in his buggy so I reckon he is tired...

DS1 gave up his naps on his own at about 17 months.

DS2 probably would have given them up about that age too - but I won't let him .

I think they go through phases of not going down..but you should be able to get him back if you persevere, try aearly lunch eg 12.00 then down for a nap at abput 1,30 or a bit later ..I put dgs down with a beaker of warm milk sometimes he utterly refuses to sleep but I leave him as long as poss eg up to 40 mins..mostly he drops off. In my opinion best not to give in to taking out in a pushchair but somewtimes needs must I know

Sorry to tell you this but my ds3 ditched his daytime sleep for good at about 15 months. He's never seemed to need as much sleep as the others. He has so much energy it's exhausting.

even if he doesn't sleep I'd still try to preserve the nap time even if it's just a quiet time in the cot on his own with some toys and books

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer so quickly. I think I will give it a go for a few more days, and see how it goes, and I will let you know. I know I'm not ready to give the nap up! Thanks, again.
