9month old wakings

Hi all,

My 9month old has recently started waking up quite a bit again in the night, this has coincided with her moving around a lot more, dragging herself across the room and climbing over us and the furniture. Are the 2 things linked? I seem to remember reading somewhere that this can happen, if so when does it calm down?! Anything we can do to help?!

Thanks

I am in the same boat with my 9 month old so bumping to see if anyone has any advice!

Plenty of sympathy here! 8.5 month DS is very unsettled at the moment and it has co-incided with him trying to crawl and becoming more communicative - i.e. he now understands the concept of conversation. Really lovely, but all he wants to do is practice and is struggling to switch off for naps and night time sleep. It's a double whammy for me though as he has two stubborn little teeth burrowing their way out and has developed a touch of separation anxiety too.

As for the developmental stuff, i've heard that it might help to let them practice their skills as much as possible during the day so they (hopefully) get it out of their system. It seems to have worked for me in the past.

It calms down once they've accomplished their new skill... whatever it might be.

Thanks! Tonight as she was going to sleep she was doing her best to sit up (she can go from lying to sitting herself now) but her eyes were closed and she was clearly too tired. She's very determined though and was basically sitting in her sleep!

Hopefully it will pass soon!
