In the baby whisperer book she says to wake then by gently shaking/prodding or whatever then give them a dummy or if they don't have one then shush/pat back to sleep. You're supposed to do this about an hour before their usual wake up time.

Thanks, going to have a bash tonight so fingers crossed. 4.30am starts are beginning to take their toll.

Best of luck!

Hiya, no need to properly wake them. Just stroke their cheek lightly or move their blanket etc. They just need to stir and then take a deep breath in to start a new sleep cycle. Hth.

Whoops sorry about that, maybe that's why it didn't work when I tried to do it!!

mewkins · 29/05/2011 10:09

oh yes you need to be really careful...and watch out for creaky doors!!

Chucklecheeks · 29/05/2011 19:30

Tried last night and instead of waking at 4.30 he went till 6am. I gentlry blew on his face till he sucked in and turned away. It was very gentle. I would have thought it was not enough but seemed to work.

Woohoooooooo

Will try again tonight and update you.

Thanks
CC xx

excellent! think the baby whisperer recommends 3 days in a row which is enough to change their patterns xx

6am again, I am getting giddy with all this sleep. I let him have a gurgle in his cot till 6.30 so had a half hour doze too. Lifeis grand!

Too good to be true me thinksHmm
