Sleep gone to shit after sickness

My 8 month old eventually became a good napper at about 3 months. But after a spout of vomiting bug (which she has recovered from) her naps have gone to shit. She is clearly tired but gets herself worked up into a right state and I have on occasions had to rock her to sleep, something I have not done for months and months and I cannot even put her down once asleep as she screams blue murder.

Does anyone have any experience of sleep going tits up after illness and if so, how long did it take to get back on track and if so, how?!

this is not doing my PND any good!!

thanks

It might help to see it as her needing extra reassurance? She's also at an age where she's going through separation anxiety which doesn't help plus there's a sleep regression at that age anyway.

Best thing I found was to go with it - take the easy route of cuddling etc because it will pass. Every now and then try and let her self settle but if not, cuddle. It does go back to normal.

I am in a similar boat - thought we had it all sorted but DD 8 months now won't go to bed till after 9pm, wakes during the night again and is v difficult to settle. She started nursery 6 weeks ago and has had two colds and a bout of D+V since then whilst also teething bless her, so I'm hoping it will sort itself out when she has fully recovered. My fear is that she isn't really getting much of a chance to recover at the moment as she picks up the next cold so her sleep will become permanently disrupted. She also doesn't nap well at nursery so I'm sure that doesn't help. Confused
Sorry that's not much help I know but just wanted to let you know you're not alone!
