7 month old unsettled at night

my 7 month old has started waking in the night alot needing me to constantly rub his back to keep him asleep! as soon as i stop he cries it takes about 45 mins then he sleeps for about 3 hours then does it again. He is not hungry I offer milk he doesnt want it, I am sooo tired, any advice?? I am wondering if its indegestion as its 6 weeks since i started solids? he slept before i introduced solids, anyone expereinced same thing? thanks
