Moving from moses basket to cot

Does anyone have any tips that might help us...
dd2 is 9 weeks, and getting too big for her moses basket - however, we cannot get her to settle in her big cot in the evenings. She will have daytime naps there without any problem, but in the evenings, she might settle for 30 mins, but then wakes, and won't re-settle, and gets herself all worked up.
We are using a grobag for her to sleep in, as she is really wriggly, and tends to kick off blankets and sheets.
Any ideas ?

you could try one of these

dont know if it would help but my friend swears by it because she thought her little one felt 'lost' in the big cot

or try rolled up blankets down the sides of the cot/baby

i think they just like to feel safe and secure

I think good old Gina recommended placing a sheet over the baby and tucking it under the mattress so that it feels secure. I used to do this with both of mine, thin sheet so they do not overheat.

When ds was in hospital they created 'nests' within the big cots. If you take 2 bath towels and roll them length ways. Then place them forming a sort of egg shape round where dd will sleep. Then lay your normal bottom sheet over the top. Not sure if my explanation is that clear. If not hopefully someone else will know what I mean and be able to enlighten you further.

I read somewhere that you should put the Moses basket (with the baby in it ) in the cot for a few nights. That way they get used to the different surroundings to a certain extent.
Can't say I've tried it though but it could be worth a go.

hornbag, did that for all my kids and it worked fine.

Thanks for the tips.
We tried Moses basket inside the cot last night - and that worked fine (though there's not much room left for her in the basket !). Will perhaps try some of the other ideas about getting her settled in the big cot tonight - though it's odd that she is quite happy to have naps there in the day...

I'm using the towel trick for DD and that helps her.
