DS 3.10 has decided that its fun to get up at this ungodly hour every morning! the room is completely black - I make sure it is - and still he gets up! he comes through to us and winges and moans till someone gets up with him and then wakes 17 mo DS2 at the same time who also grumps because he's still nackered. Every morning is just a battle. any tips? PS he usually goes to bed at half 7 and is sleeping by 8.

Sorry, sounds pretty normal to me Grin.

Gro clock or similar. Set it for 5 mins after they normally wake up to start with so they dont have to stay in bed too long withough getting bored and then increase to whatever time you choose. Alternatively, lots of interesting toys to play with in own room combined with some sort of bribary to stay and play in own room?

But sadly, I agree with Ragwort so my suggestions may not be any use at all. Sorry.

Very sorry but 5.45 isn't that early, it isn't a great time but it is still considered morning in our house.

I am afraid to say that 5.30/5.45am is a normal time to get up in my house as well. Even if I put my DS to bed later than his normal time, he still wants to get up at 5.30am.
It is frustrating at times, but I see it as special time for me to spend some one on one time with my son.

Normal in our house too

we used fairy lights on a timer with dd and a digital clock with ds - they havent to come through (except for the toilet) until it says 7:00. I just couldnt get up before the clock says 6am so they had to learn to stay where they were until the clock says they can get up.
