Mine went in when we first visited the in-laws, at 5 weeks. Can't imagine there'd be a lower limit. One word of advice- if you haven't bought one yet, get one with a bassinet-type-thing so you don't have to lower your newborn right to the bottom.

Yup Bassinet ones are suitable from birth.

From birth. The bassinet does make it much easier.
