mt three week old boy just doesnt like to go down to sleep! we've tried the pram, the cradle and the moses basket! within 5 minutes he wakes up crying. all he wants is a cuddle. he doesnt nap unless he's in his sling or being cuddled. people keep telling me to let him cry, but i just cant do it!

:) Of course you don't want to let him cry, he is just 3 weeks old! When people tell you to leave him just smile and nod then pick him up. It feels like forever but it will change gradually and he will sleep without you one day. He has spent teh past 9 months inside you, it is perfectly natural and normal for him to want to be close to you while he is still so small. Make the most of the cuddles and try to rest when you can.

thank you! you get so many different opinions from midwife, health visitor etc! its just not in my nature to let him cry, when i know feeding him will settle him! just going to have to embrace this huge change in my life! and enjoy the cuddles :-)

Everyone is different and I don't think that any way is more right than others (within reasonable bounds of course), you just have to do what feels right to you :). If you think you may end up sleeping together at night then do take a look at safe co-sleeping guidelines.
