Basically DS's naps are crap. He's still mostly on 2 a day (he's 14 months), and unless I drive him around in the car, he will only sleep on my lap while bf-ing. This means he never does longer than an hour at a time, and his night sleeping is suffering.
I tried for a period to get him to nap in his cot, and for several months he managed it (after many days of screaming), but it's all gone to bollocks and now it's either blow a fortune on fuel each week or have him use me as a dummy, which is bloody sore as he's working on some canines at the moment.
Have I gone past the point where it's possible to get him napping in his cot?
Don't get me wrong, I love feeding him, and neither of us are ready to wean him yet, but this napping thing is really getting me down.
Interestingly, he spends 2 days with his gran while I'm at work, and he sleeps fine on the sofa for her! That's never going to happen for me though is it, because he knows I have milk....?
Help, advice, tips etc all very gratefully received... Smile

whats he like with the buggy? my DS is same age and he used to be hard work to get to nap. We had months of him being rocked to sleep in the buggy in the kitchen. I was worried that he would only sleep with some sort of motion for ever - but then he started nursery and they got him napping in the cot in no time. They always like to give us the runaround more than anyone else...

Since starting nursery he naps in his cot really nicely now. Sometimes I still BF him to sleep and just hold him til Im sure he is really sound and then put him down.

I definitely dont think youve gone past the point, he'll not be lying on you to sleep when hes 2. If he did it before he will definitely be able to do it again, Its hard to see at the time but it never ceases to amaze me how these phases do actually pass, just like everyone says they will...

good luck!!
